Wayne High School National Honor Society:

Celebrating Character, Scholarship, Leadership & Service

Wayne Central School District exemplifies the National Honor Society’s purpose of Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service by providing students with meaningful opportunities to grow as leaders and contribute to their community. Members meet monthly to plan and carry out initiatives such as running the NHS Induction Ceremony, where they take responsibility for organizing, decorating, and serving guests. They demonstrate service through projects like hosting two annual Red Cross Blood Drives, volunteering weekly at the Ontario Food Pantry, and supporting Habitat for Humanity home builds. Students extend their leadership by assisting with Homework Helpers, Chess Club, Art Club, and Yoga Club, while also engaging younger learners through programs like Reading with Students at the WP and WE libraries. Fundraisers and service projects—including the Chipotle Fundraiser, Christmas gift wrapping for district staff, and food and supply drives for local charities—further showcase their commitment to scholarship and character. Beyond these activities, NHS members at Wayne continue to do even more for their school and community.
