If your student requires medications during the school year, the nurse must have both a written order from the physician and parent permission to administer. The parent must deliver to medication(s) to the nurse. This includes over-the-counter medications. Orders for medications to be administered in school are limited by law to the individual school year so even if your student had a medication order for last year, a new order must be received for the current school year.
