Bella Voce Select Women's Chorus

Bella Voce is an auditioned ensemble for the young women of Wayne Central.  Students must be a member of Select Chorus or Concert Chorus.   The group performs throughout the year at regularly scheduled concert as well as for other community events.  The group meets once a week to rehearse.

 Beneway Boys                                                                                                          

A group of male students who sing songs, which range from classical to rock and roll. The group is open to any male that is interested in singing. You do not need to be a member of chorus to join. The group performs at high school concerts and in the community. 

Big Brothers Big Sisters                                                                                     

Big Brothers Big Sisters carefully matches at-risk youths from the elementary school with caring, young adult role models from the high school. The matches play games, go outside, do experiments, and create lasting relationships throughout the school year.                                                                                                                        

 

Environmental Club

Members of the Environmental Club learn about and educate classmates about environmental issues. They also take action on environmental issues within the school, such as recycling, leading Earth Week events, and planting trees.

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)            

Provide a business related program with excellent opportunities for students (grades 9-12), interested in the business world.  Students will develop career supportive competencies, leadership skills, civic and personal responsibilities, and build friendships within the club and with others in local area clubs while at business and leadership seminars and competitions.

Gay Straight Alliance (GSA)                                                    

A safe place for gay, straight, lesbian, and bisexual students to just be themselves, in a non-judgmental atmosphere. Our goal is to support each other and help others navigate high school and teenage issues. GSA is open to all students.

Jazz Band

A select (you may have to audition) group of band students who perform several times throughout the year. The Jazz band plays a wide variety of musical styles; from swing and Latin to rock and funk.  The focus of Jazz band is to correctly execute style for the various types of music that is performed.  Students in Jazz band will also learn how to improvise on their instrument.

Masterminds                                                                                                                                      

For students that know lots of facts in areas ranging from pop culture to history to sports. Students will participate in contests against students in other districts

Math Team                                                                                                                   

Math Team is a competitive team in the Monroe County Math League. Mathletes enjoy mathematics and challenging math problems. Each student competes in three categories. Each category consists of three levels of questions.

 MediaClub                                                                                                                                          

Gives students real world, behind the scenes, hands on experience with many diverse types of Audio/Video Technologies. This encompasses a wide variety of technical support skills pertaining to performing arts, plays, concerts, variety shows as well as presentations.  The main objectives of the club are to encourage team building, positive communication, excellence through character development in preparation for future endeavors in multimedia, theatre and A/V production.

National Honor Society (NHS)

The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

Science Olympiad                                                                                                                          

The purpose of the Science Olympiad team is to encourage members to participate in the scientific process, and in scientific activities. In addition, through competitions, members gain team building and sportsmanship skills. Students will plan and complete community service activities after the regional competition to engage the community in science.

Senate                                                                                                                                                      

A club that plans programs and activities beneficial to the high school.  This club gives leadership and direction to student activities. 

 

ShowChoir                                                                                                                                           

A group that combines singing with dancing like our own version of Glee Club! The group performs musical theater numbers in the annual cabaret plus other concerts throughout the year.  You can perform in-group numbers or as a soloist. You must be in one of the school choirs to be in Show Choir.

Ski Club                                                                                                                             

 A club that that travels to Bristol Mountain six times throughout the winter. This club is open to all students.

 

Technology Student Association (TSA)                         

A club for those interested in competing against other students in other districts in New York State using new technology. Students will participate in Tech Wars in May.

Wayne Musicals

The musical club is open to anyone that has a passion for musical theatre.  Students wishing to perform in the show must audition. Auditions take place in November.  Rehearsals for the cast are generally Monday - Thursday 3-6 and some Saturdays.   Students wishing to be on the stage crew are welcome and are required to be at rehearsals the last month before the show. 

Yearbook                                                                                                                       

A club, which creates the yearly high school yearbook using Adobe products. Members will design, plan, write and proofread each page of the book. Club members will attend high school events to take pictures for inclusion in the book.

Represent, plan and initiate all activities, which involve the classes of 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
