* One-Credit Requirement for World Languages - All students, other than those deemed exempt by the committee on special education, must complete a minimum of one credit in world languages. This may be accomplished either by completing two years of study before the end of eighth grade and passing the second language proficiency exam, or by passing a level 1 high school course and final exam in world languages.

This option is available for students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or with a 504 plan that allows the Safety Net.

2. Exam Requirements:
- Students must take the Regents Exams (Common Core) in :
- English
- Global History
- Algebra
- US History
- One (1) Science
- Students with disabilities who score 55-64 on any of the required Regents Exams (Common Core) may earn a local diploma.
- Students with disabilities who score 45-54 on a required Regents Exam (Common Core) (except English and Math) can be compensated by a score of 65 or above on another required Regents exam. In all cases, students must achieve a score of 55 or higher on the English Regents Exam (Common Core) and one Math Regents Exam (Common Core). In addition, the student must pass the course in which he/she earned a score of 45-54 and have satisfactory attendance.

- One additional NYS approved exam/assessment which can include core subject areas and various pathway assessments

2. Three credits of a foreign language or a 5 credit sequence in art, technology, business, music or a vocational program.
3. Students must achieve a 65% or higher on the following Regents Exams (Common Core):
- English
- Global History
- US History
- Algebra
- Geometry
- Algebra 2
- Two (2) Science Exams (one of the two required exams must be Biology)
- World Language (regional assessment)

- Regents Diploma with Honors – This diploma is issued to a student who achieves an average of 90% or higher on the five Regents Exams (Common Core) required for a Regents diploma.
- Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors – This diploma is issued to a student who achieves an average of 90% or higher on all Regents Exams (Common Core) required for the diploma.
- Mastery in Mathematics – Eligible to students earning an Advanced Regents Diploma. If a student has earned an 85% or higher on the Algebra Regents Exam (Common Core), Geometry Regents Exam (Common Core) and the Algebra 2 Regents Exam (Common Core), a student will receive an annotation on his/her diploma that denotes mastery in mathematics.
- Mastery in Science – Eligible to students earning an Advanced Regents Diploma. If a student has earned an 85% or higher on the Biology Regents and on two other Regents science exams, a student will receive an annotation on his/her diploma that denotes mastery in science.
- Career and Technical Education Endorsement – Career and Technical Education (CTE) Technical Endorsement is an enhancement on a student’s high school diploma in the form of a New York State Education Department seal indicating that a student has completed coursework in a state approved CTE program.
Credential Options:
Career Development and Occupational Studies Commencement Credential
This credential is available to all students other than those who are assessed using the NYS Alternate Assessment.
- Complete a Career Plan.
- Complete 20 hours of Community Service.
- Attend a 2 year program at the WTCC (54 work based hours) & 214 hours of career and technical education coursework of additional work based hours).
- Complete an Employability Profile.
Skills and Achievement Commencement Credential
- This credential is available to students with severe disabilities that are assessed using the NYS Alternate Assessment.
